Regular readers will know I went through a huge Atari ST phase back in 2017-2018, but that it ultimately fizzled out because I couldn't consistently get software running on the machine due to the difficulties of transferring stuff back and forth, along with "TOS" incompatibilities. This second attempt at 80s computing is more like what I was looking for in the first place: you can just plug a microSD card into the thing and run games, in seconds.
Once I get the computer here and have it working, I'd like to buy a copy of "C64 OS". "Vision Basic" also looks really cool, maybe I'll try making a game like I did on the ST back when.
In other news, I've been playing "Cyberpunk 2077" on Switch 2. This was the game which was going to really tell me how good or bad the hardware was-- and wow, does the system pass with flying colors! Below are some screenshots I took in the uglier handheld mode-- and it stands up pretty well to this screenshot I took at game launch, on an RTX 2080. Performance on Switch 2 isn't bad either: I'm using the "performance" mode, and it feels like it's over 30 fps most of the time-- it feels very playable.
Click on any of them for the full-sized versions. Maybe I'll take some docked mode screenshots at some point as well:

I also had my first job interview in twenty years on Friday. As a 23 year-old young gun I blew past the technical interview but completely flunked the "soft skills" portion. As a grizzled 43 year-old with gray hair in his beard, I nailed the "soft skills" stuff but struggled with the technical part-- all I could think during it was, "I'm too old for this shit." Maybe I really should move into management. We'll see if they call me back.
Altar serving with my son and I went great today though! We're both getting a lot more comfortable with it. I think after a couple of more tries we'll totally have it down.
