Today will be a fun day. I applied at a very Christian-centric company in town here, to be a systems integrator for their machines and other IT infrastructure. It would be a bit of a pay cut from my current job, but since I'll be getting double-paid for nine months, I can pay off the GR Corolla and have no car payment once again, to go along with no rent or mortgage.
The other possibilities are to make quite literally $200k-$250k working for someone like eBay or Instacart-- although I have concerns that I would need to hide the real me, like I felt as if I needed to do at my current employer; or, I could start my own consulting company, which is something a good friend of mine is encouraging me to do.
I don't want to go to Saudi Arabia, so-to-speak-- but I get why footballers are doing it, when they are offered 20 million per year; I'd rather follow my heart, but when you're talking double-or-more the pay, the allure is there.
Later today I have a chiropractor appointment, then I'm hanging out with the aforementioned friend to sift through all of his PC stuff to make heads-and-tails of what can be re-used or consolidated. I think he's going to wind up building a PC, I priced an AM5, 9600X system out for him on Newegg-- $780 sans video card, I figured he could just use the integrated graphics for now.
The other piece I'm in a holding pattern with is the diaconate. Our pastor told me there's money in the budget for me to start this fall! I would love that, but at the same time I want to get the job situation sorted so that I even know what my work schedule would look like.
