Review
A Frogger-like game, Zapper is one of the few "Z" games in the gba library. It plays like you imagine a game of Frogger would.. you have limited movement, and jump from tile to tile. This game is very open however. It sports, 15 solid chunky levels of gameplay, as well as some time attack modes and a "multiplayer"??? from the main menu. There are also 5 additional "bonus" levels that are shenanigan worthy. I personally only tried 3 of them, 2 minecart levels and 1 submarine level that reminded me of earthworm jim. The graphics are more or less standard for a GBA game, nothing too crazy or amazing. The music on the other hand is quite encompassing. Each world has it's own theme, and each level's music brings out the theme of that world even better. Personally I was digging the western world's music. The best I could describe it, would be like an action-rap? The goal of the game is to collect 6 blue eggs in each level and make it to the end. Each level also has 100 collectible blue orbs. If you collect all the blue orbs in each level in a world, you unlock it's bonus level. Each level also has a fun little "yellow orb challenge". completing all 3 yellow orb challenges in a world will open a bridge in one of the levels that allows you to collect the remaining blue orbs. Simply put, if you want to get the bonus levels, you gotta do the yellow orb challenges first. It's quirky but pretty simple and fun at the same time. Speaking of simple, let's talk plot. The plot of this game is kind of messed up. You play as Zapper who sets off to rescue his "cricket?" friend from an evil bird... kind of. The truth is that Zapper put his friend up on the roof as an antennae so he could watch TV, the bird snatched him up because he was shiny. By the time you beat that birdbrain down, you rescue his buddy and stick him right back up on that TV antennae. Also the bird goes to jail. Bird Jail. But hey, the music is good, infinite continues, and continues reset your life count.

All in All, I gave this game a score of 8.7 because it was fairly fun and had good music. The downsides of this game are in it's design and controls. I admittedly am not that good at frogger-esc games and this game reminded me heavily of that. Near the end there were some questionable hitboxes as well. Sometimes you're forced to jump just to see if you will die to something. Game has a "Stupid Helmet".
