Review
Another comic book video game, akin to the playstyle of catwoman or yuyuhakusho. In this game you control superman as one would suspect, but there's no cheap gimmicks like "find this powerup to use your ice breath" or anything like that. You start as based superman with all his powers and abilities in the game. You can fly, use ice breath, shoot laser beam eyes, run fast and through people, lift cars and have super punching power! The trick with this game is that it rewards the player for not using laser vision to cheapskate the game by just lasering everything. This game has a very soft completion % system, where a level is judged based off your % that you build by defeating enemies. It seems like around 70% is 3 superman tokens which makes a level 100% complete. Defeat an enemy with a certain attack to get higher %. Laser beams give 0%, Ice breath and throwing enemies gives 1%, punching enemies or ramming through them gives 2%, and using the super punch attack gives 3%. All of this is simply to unlock a "final secret" which is just a fight against metallo. It's arguable if this is worth all the trouble, but the game itself is pretty free to win, so why not? In truth the game is more around 40 minutes, maybe 30 at best, but I took a bit of time to 100% it. The basic story of the game is that metropolis is in a lull in terms of crime until a new gang starts to cause havoc. Superman runs around to beat them up then finds the prince of apokolips to be aiding the gangs. Superman beats him up as well and saves the day. Not much to this game, though even I can appreciate that final level view, if you catch my drift.

All in All, a 7.0 is an appropriate rating for this game. There were times when the movement was funky and it was hard to aim... the music was hit or miss, won't remember it in a few hours. Really short game too, but wasn't absolutely horrible but definitely forgettable.
