Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Sniper)
Genre: 2d platformer
Developer: Behaviour Interactive
Publisher: Activision

Graphics
The character art in this title is more or less straight from the corresponding tie-in CGI film-- love it or hate it. The game utilizes the Unity middleware engine straight out of the box, and the levels are filled with Henry Ford-like, assembly-line geometry, dropped into the Unity editor. Some of the worlds-- such as the "Parisian Underground"-- are not bad looking, but the game definitely suffers from a mass-produced look.

Sound
The title uses hoppy, cheerful piano pieces for its stage music, and while the sound fits the Peanuts theme, the character of the songs fails to create any kind of atmosphere at all, especially in areas that should be tense, such as boss fights. Sound effects are minimal, although the game does use some well-done voice acting.

Gameplay
The stages in this title were clearly inspired by the NES classic "DuckTales", in that they are exploration-oriented, and contain both vertical and horizontal elements. Unfortunately, they just aren't as interesting to play as the boards in the aforementioned Disney-licensed title, as they seem to meander, and every area within them looks more or less identical. Snoopy's physics are also a bit stiff, and many of the stage mechanics are buggy and unpredictable.

Overall
Snoopy's Grand Adventure is so "paint-by-numbers" that it's painful; it was created by a studio that specializes in "metacritic" score-oriented, mass-produced-style production, and it shows, starting with the game's seven splash screens, and continuing on through the gameplay. The title is also way too easy, with health doled out left and right, and a mechanic that lets the player instantly get his health back in the event that the player does get hit by one of the generally non-threatening enemies. The game isn't bad, it's just boring, with its rambling copy and paste levels, and total lack of challenge.
