SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash (Sniper)
Genre: Collectible Card Game
Developer: SNK
Publisher: SNK

Graphics
There are two sets of visuals in CFC: those during the actual matches, and those during the field. The field graphics are obviously inspired by Nintendo's Gameboy "Pokemon" titles-- same vantage point and lots of big-headed, baseball cap wearing kids. The in-game graphics are hand-drawn portraits of famous Capcom and SNK characters. Colorful but only mediocre aesthetically, this is a solid graphical NGPC effort.

Sound
There isn't much in the way of sound effects given that this is a card game, but there is plenty of music. The quality of the soundtrack wildly swings from awful, Pokemon-motivated ten-second jingles with obnoxious melodies, to somewhat catchy, more elaborate tunes. On the all though, this is the first NGPC game where I usually play with the volume off or way down.

Gameplay
Your time in this title is spent walking around, Pokemon-style, talking to other children and engaging in competitive gaming. Except unlike Pokemon, in this title you participate in a relatively simple, but extremely addicting, collectible card game, the dynamics of which are most similar to the old "Yu-gi-oh" TCG. There are 300 cards, and there is definitely a skill-factor involved, even though it never comes close to approaching the depth and breadth of Magic the Gathering.

Overall
Despite the horrible audio, slightly above average graphics, and the gameplay itself, which, frankly, isn't that deep, Card Fighters' Clash manages to be a highly addicting game that is easy to play for consecutive hours per sitting. If the cards interacted more, or gave more planned possibilities for deck creation, this would be an amazing game. As it is, its addicting premise and multiplayer potential still make for a very good game.
