I'm not sure whether I should classify this game as a beat'em up or a platformer. This game followers the classic power rangers style of action first adventures that the series is known for. Personally speaking, I don't follow this franchise that much, but it seems like this incarnation of the superhero team takes more inspiration from the super sentai rangers rather than the American power rangers incarnation. The characters you control throughout this game are the red, blue, and busty yellow ranger. The black ranger seems to be the "commander?" or something and the white ranger is all evil until near the end of the game. As a power ranger, you go around defeating some type of evil meso-putty-things and saving people by doing stuff like stopping bombs, putting out fires, or freeing people from rocks. The story/plot aside, this game plays like a platformer in the sense that much of the time you'll be jumping up and down and all around just to get to places. I abandoned the combo moves within the first 2 minutes of the game, the jump kick is an instant kill to all enemies. The Bosses in the game can be a little bit cheap, and will most likely kill you making you replay THE WHOLE LEVEL all over again. The megazord parts feel like playing rock'em sock'em robots.. they could have made it better. The music ranges from okay to heart-attack-inducing. Honestly I don't know why they made the longest levels have the fastest "anxious beat" song in the game. Nothing spectacular to write home about on this one. Might be a decent game for ages 7 and under.
All in All, The Score of 6.5 is fairly generous for this bland game. My biggest gripes are having to replay levels because the boss does something I cannot anticipate or has some silly gimmick. The end boss took me quite a few tries because he has 4 forms: "1) Tennis. 2) Shadow Clones. 3) Dracula. 4) Boomer Kuwanger." Music was... average..
