Mario kart on the gba has never loo... what? this isn't mario kart? SURE FEELS LIKE IT! Nicktoons Racing is basically mario kart. You assume the character from one of the popular nicktoons cartoons such as spongebob, rugrats, wild thornberries, or angry beavers. There are a few others too. The race tracks are styled after these cartoons as well. The game itself is very styled after a mixture of mario-kart esc racing with a completely free game style. I got first or 2nd almost every time, but from what I can tell, you just need to get 3rd or up to win. The game only roughly keeps track of your wins by unlocking harder modes/cups. There's time trial and multiplayer as well. There are 3 cups in this game and 3 difficulties. Beating the 3rd Cup gets you a little bit of dialogue about the 'mystery driver'. Spoiler: It's Plankton. Who didn't see that one coming? He's always the defacto goto villain when nicktoons needs one. There's not really much here, but the game does play like mario kart so I guess good for an hour or two of gameplay. The graphics are a bit weird, almost like they wanted to go 3D but sorta didn't. The skidding as well is too tight. I personally used the Angry Beavers as my character, but there are others, including Stimpy from Ren&Stimpy. He seemed like he was the Bowser of this game. Beating the hardest difficulty on the last cup didn't give credits, but credits are in the main menu. Riding in the non-track area really hurts your speed a ton, way more than mario kart.
All in All, a 7 is a bit high for this but fits. This is more of a basic game, it's got effort in it but it's also pretty bland. The music is a bit discombobulated, steering off the track automatically puts you in last place, has the mario kart drift but it's way too tight to be useful, and in hairpin turns, it's too loose. The AI on harder difficulties is just too ridiculously fast as well.
