Legends of Yore (Sniper)
Genre: Roguelike
Developer: Coke and Code
Publisher: Coke and Code

Graphics
In the same spirit as other contemporary releases such as Minecraft and 3d Dot Game Heroes, Legends of Yore opts for an intentional and extreme legacy look, and does so with reasonable aplomb; the color schemes and symmetry in the dungeons and overworld areas are vibrant and pleasing. The icon-driven user interface is easy to comprehend and easy to use on a touch screen device.

Sound
Like the art style, Legends of Yore's chiptune soundtrack is ambient yet playful, evoking imagery of valiant combat and drunken bards in equal measure. Sound effects are minimal but never grow old or get in the way.

Gameplay
As a minimalistic yet featured roguelike, Legends of Yore allows for the turn-based exploration of overworld maps and lengthy, randomly-generated dungeons. The "tap on enemy to engage with ranged attack" mechanic works well, and the dungeon generator tends to lend a nice sense of exploration to its output.

Overall
Legends of Yore is an enjoyable, accomplished rogue-like that doesn't take itself too seriously, and that is highly playable on touch-based device. There have been better titles in the genre for sure, but the title has quite a lot going for it.
