My first experience with Harry Potter, and it's shit. They should have called this STAIRS the game because that's what you're doing 90% of the time, stairs. This one is Designed to be an adventure game with minigames serving as the primary source of entertainment. In other words, imagine FF7 style where you are on a screen and you control a 3D character going from place to place. The biggest issue with that is that this is the gameboy advance, and the graphics don't hold up amazingly well. Further ontop of that, the design of the exits is retarded. What I mean is, sometimes you will go up, and then up is the exit to the next room, which will instantly transport you back to the first room. This happens OFTEN with many directions. Admittedly I don't know anything about Harry Potter, this game seemed extremely foreign and weird to me. I believe it's possibly a movie game, but I do know that they're based off of books. The gameplay of this one, as mentioned already, involves going around and playing minigames to advance the plot. These minigames include the ever so popular "ddr input", "hold the wobbling needle", and "pick the right food" as well as a few others. There's also a makeshift RPG combat in this game, which is hilarious because it's absolutely horrible. To give an idea of how bad it is; 3v3, alternating team turns, alternating character turns. That means that if the enemy wants to, they can mass target one of your guys and there's nothing you can do to stop them. You get 5 spells for combat in this game, a weak/medium/strong damaging spell, a stun spell, and a shield spell. Throughout the game you are forced to improve these spells on your characters. Yes, Forced. Most of the game revolves around whatever the plot of this game is. It was too hectic for me to keep track. White Woman BadEvil and takes over the school or something, then a Death Eater kills someguy named snake. Didn't know I was playing LoTR. The good aspect of this game is that there's A LOT of warping that happens throughout the story to cut out the walking-to-place-A crap that games like these do. Unfortunately, it's still got a ton of that type of 'gameplay'. You'll be challenged repeatedly by people that try to kill you as well as walking around and playing minigames that are pretty dull and lame. I imagine this is a game created specifically for harry potter fans, which I am not. The game was dull and uninspiring from my view, and was nothing more than a walking simulator. EA had their fingerprints all over this one. Music was pretty crap too.
All in All, this game scored 3 qupidsofnogsfgshs or whatever they're called. STAIRS.. TOO MANY STAIRS. Bad screen transitions, slow monotonous gameplay, weird cutscenes, plot makes no sense, minigames were basic and bland, walking simulator, EA.
