Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Sniper)
Genre: Action
Developer: Rockstar
Publisher: Rockstar

Graphics
Liberty City Stories does for handheld visuals what Sonic Adventure did for console visuals: huge draw-in distance, some decent artwork, and fairly stable framerates cover up the few visual blemishes that exist. I've heard that running the PSP at its full 333 mhz system clock results in nearly 60 fps for this title, but it's really not needed-- LCS is a slick looking mobile title.

Sound
The full compliment of radio stations that GTA players are accustomed to are all present here, and with brand new content to boot. Aside from this new content, LCS sounds just like every other GTA game; engines revving, talk show host talking, and some nice voice acting during cut-scenes.

Gameplay
LCS uses the same city as GTA 3, with some minor variations, so players of that game will feel at home. There are plenty of side objectives, such as street races, rampages, and finding hidden packages, as well as the regular quests. The control scheme easily allows you to perform needed actions during gameplay. My only gripe is the same gripe I have about the other GTA titles; not enough depth in the game's design. Still though, I am impressed by how well Rockstar adapted this title to a handheld format.

Overall
LCS is GTA 3 on a handheld, with no sacrifices. In fact, the lack of depth that mars the console titles almost helps this game in a way because mobile titles, by definition, should be easy to pick up and play in short bursts. I found myself enjoying LCS much more than GTA 3 for this reason. With some reservations, I do see this as a low-A range title because it is a good fit for the format and because it is really a game all PSP owners should enjoy.
