Fastcrawl uses hand-drawn pastellish character portraits, clean UI lines, anti-aliased fonts, and a uniform, colorful look that sets mood and establishes a unique environment in each dungeon type.

Slow, sombre dungeon music and up-beat orchestrated battle fantasy tunes are well-composed, catchy, and manage to be unique even within the crowded fantasy music genre.

A more accessable version of Nethack, and with better graphics to boot, Fastcrawl requires the use of only the mouse, and the clean interface and random dungeon generation lend themselves well to pickup-and-play action.

Despite the inability to re-use the same party between adventures, Fastcrawl is the most wonderful, artistic, and refreshing take on Nethack since Blizzard's famous Diablo.
