Another Cartoon Network game based on the popular series 'Ed, Edd, & Eddy' this time. The plot of the game is akin to the average episode of the series. the ed boys are having a peaceful(AND BORING!) day in the cul-de-sac until jimmy comes along and tells them of this jawbreaker giveaway. They immediately set forth to go get some! When they arrive they find out they're all sold out, but they can win big if they can get their hands on some tickets! They set forth to scam*ahem* "Challenge" the other kids out of their tickets to increase their odds of winning the lifetime jawbreakers. Music wise the game is solid, but Gameplay wise, they dropped the ball hard. You control all three of the ed-trio similar to game's like 'Lost Vikings' or 'Berenstain Bears/spooky old tree'. That means this is mostly a platform puzzle game, which to it's credit... it's very open as a puzzle game. One of the better aspects of this game is that there are quite a few vertical levels. HOWEVER the biggest problem with this game is it's movement and mechanics. Your characters are SLOWWWW. I mean, real slow.. like holy crap this is gonna take a while. If you play perfectly you can expect to take around 3 hours+ to beat this game because the characters are just that slow to move. On top of that, many of the jumps or maneuvers required to beat the game are extremely tight. There's one jump in the forest stage that doesn't look like it's possible to make, but there's no other way to advance so you have to keep trying it over and over and over again until you get it. Same with a few other jumps/robot dodges. Eddy is more of the scout of the team, since he has a higher movement than the other two and can double jump. Edd is the technical guy on the team, able to pull levels and use weapons. Ed is the "break the wall and push the cart" guy in the team. There's not much difference between Ed and Edd since they both have the same movement. The only true difference is that double D can use weapons while Ed is completely powerless. Most stages revolve around taking the trio to the exit point, but on rare instances you sometimes have to "find an object" which usually involves taking Ed to a specific point to break a wall so that you can retrieve that object. This game has bosses at the end of every stage, but they are pathetic at best. The only true boss is the son of a shepherd, Rolf! It's his old country ways that truly make him worthy. The Final Boss was the most pathetic out of all of them. It was about as strong as the final boss of final fantasy 2, aka a wet paper rag you walk over. This game is a good diversion if you need something to play for a few hours, but don't expect anything amazing out of it. The slowness of the game drags the whole quality of it down. Credits after you beat the final boss. I really wanted to give this game a higher score, but that slowness really dragged it down.
All in All, The ed boys earned a 5.5 jawbreaker score out of 10. Tight Jumps, SLOW GAMEPLAY, useless life system & bonus life system, dull uninspired bosses, questionable platforms, and falling through platforms really hurt this game's score.
