Review
Surprisingly playable for a football game. This is a Konami creation along with Disney centered around the mystical obsession known as "rugby", or football in civilized cultures. There are 2 modes "Challenge" and "Exhibition". In challenge mode, you will go against every other team and eventually face off against Team Pete. Unsurprisingly enough, Pete doesn't take losing too well and you wind up challenging him twice, the first time with his actual team, and the second time with every villain team leader in the game. The guy's got gumption at least. The gameplay is fairly fast and has a good pace to it. You've got about 40 seconds to pick a play, no matter if you're offense or defense. The clock will run as it does in normal football, rules apply. The game is simplified down to 5 players on each side, possibly because of limitations of the GBA or just possibly to make the game more fluent, focused, and fun. This 5-limit helps maintain a tight focus on gameplay and action. I'll say this now, I'm not a football fan, but even I enjoyed this game's quick paced action. What truly made this game enjoyable though, were the random magical powerups that both sides could pick up on the field during play. It reminded me quite a bit of the backyard baseball series in how they brought about a new spice to an old sport. In challenge mode you can either start with mickey, donald, or goofy. Naturally I began with Goofy, as any good gamer should. Why? Because it's goofy! Donald would have also been acceptable. One thing to note about this game is that it's music is pretty crazy. In classic Konami style, they went above and beyond getting solid beats for each quarter to make them all sound unique and packed with different style. The music could possibly be the best part of the game, but likewise, the action is also fairly good. When on the defense, your controls are simply move and tackle. When on the offense, you get to control who you pass to based on button selection. There's also magical powers that can be activated in certain circumstances with the L+R button combination. The situations are either (QB has the ball), (Ball is in the air) or (Runner has the ball). There's multiple magical powers for both offense and defense and they can really turn the game around, grind it to a halt, or explode it into a turn-around touchdown. The challenge mode only has about 7-ish teams, so it's not that long of a game. It's playback value is obvious that you can pick it up any time and just play an exhibition match! For someone like me who isn't a fan of football at all, this game was surprisingly fun. Highly recommend.

All in All, This game scored an 8 for itself. Sometimes the avatars can glitch invisible a bit. The playbook can be a bit hard to navigate later in the game. no cheerleaders.
