Review
Based on a movie by the same name. While I know nothing about the animated movie "Treasure Planet" I can get the gist of it by playing the game. A weird downtrodden guy named "Jim" gets busted by the cops for snowboarding on the sky after finding a secret treasure map or something. Then he and Dr.Doppler from the megaman universe go on an adventure to a place called crescentia. There's tons of burglars and thieves here. After meeting up with an absolute bitchy feminist captain, they set out and embark to Treasure Planet to find Flint's Treasure Trove. They nearly run into a bunch of asteroids along the way but make it to the planet and their crew goes full blown mutiny. After defeating them and rescuing a robot, they jump through several dimensional portals and find flint's gold, only to set off a booby trap which explodes it all. They narrowly escape with their lives and possibly a giant red gem. That's what I'm guessing the story is, gameplay wise it plays like an isometric puzzle-combat game. It's pretty awkward because of it's design at first, and feels like a mixture between metal gear and pacman with a bit of solstice thrown in as well. Most of the game revolves around figuring out how to get to the next door in each room by either pushing a box onto a button, jumping up or over pits and obstacles, or fighting enemies to unlock a door. There's also a few speeder levels in this game where you ride your solar boat(?) thing. These levels are pretty heinous. There are no timers(outside of the speeder levels) and there are plenty of coins and gems to get extra lives. This means that the player can take their time in each room, as much as they need and go at their own pace. This game also has a ridiculous amount of passwords, which is honestly impressive. You play as Jim in this game and your partner 'Morph' acts as your super powers. He allows you to do things like pull big crates, jump up high, or even walk on lava. I still don't know what the hell that thing is. Death comes very easy in this game whether it's a giant spike block or a death pit. Luckily this game was designed well enough in that aspect by offering free restarts at the start of each level. It's one of those "impossible to Game Over" games. Even more interesting though is that you keep progress when you lose all your lives. This is especially useful on the asteroid speeder level. Most of the actions you can take in this game are about movement and task solving, but you also get a single attack button which, when spammed enough, can take down most enemies. Some enemies have to be avoided. Most "Worlds" in this game consist of 3-4 levels each containing numerous puzzle rooms that eventually lead you to a missing piece of "something". Each world also contains a speeder part. The Final Level is also a speeder part, the worst one in the game. Legitimately, the final level took me an hour because of how many times I kept dying. The speeder levels have possibly the worst mechanics ever. Think Goemon 64 Giant Robots but faster and with instadeaths. Aside from that, the game itself is pretty enjoyable to and extent. The sewer level is possibly the worst and most confusing. The graphics could have been a bit better, like maybe make them more cartoony or something. The music was fairly good though and probably the high point of the game. Credits at the end loop.

All in All, This isometric spike hell scores an 8 for it's unique design. The graphics were a bit bad on this one. The speeder levels were hellish. They tried to include movie clips but it just doesn't work out that well. The game plot got a bit repetitive and stale(go here collect 3 WHATEVER to advance). The sewer level was hellish. Morph Powers could've been a bit more intuitive.
