Shakespeare in Love

Hey movie fans! I just got done with the movie "Shakespeare in Love." This picture won the academy's best picture award in 1997. I always wondered why it won over Saving Private Ryan. Now I know.

The movie Saving Private Ryan glorified heroes and war. The Movie Shakespeare in Love glorifies the love of theater (I didn't catch it, my dad did). The academy had two really great movies and they give the best award to the movie that glorifies what they do for a living. I'm not saying it's bad, but they should have found a better way to decide which movie was better.

As far as the movie went, it was great. It had an academy caliber cast with spectacular acting. The puns they do on old theater expressions was great.

The best actor in the whole movie was by far Guenith Poltro (if that's how you spell her name, I have no idea). Her performance was incredible. She is a true Shakespearean :) Now all of you who think she was great because she had a few nude scenes, get off this site now! :) The rest of the cast did a terrific job at portraying their characters.

The story line is derived from the legend that a girl really did act in Shakespeare plays. This movie does a great spin off of this legend. They create a story that is very believable.

Now as far as what you like in a movie, well......lets just say if you like how the end of most of Shakespeare plays ended you'll love this flick.

As far as my opinion goes I give this film a 10 out of 10. See ya at the movies!
