Lake Placid

Hey everyone, this is my first review and it's going to be about the
new movie Lake Placid.
To start this review I have to say this movie is anything but a scary or horror movie. If anything it's an action/comedy. The alligator is too predictable in this movie and the characters are too established. Hate to break it to everyone but the death rate in this film is about 2 people and 3 animals.
The thing about this movie is it has the exact same plot as Jaws. There is a predator in a place it shouldn't be. Also the introduction of the animal is the same as the way they introduce Jaws. You never see the animal until they establish the kind of animal it is.
Overall this movie was a big mistake. However the one thing that saved it was the casting. The actors and actresses chosen did a fantastic job in the portrayal of their characters. There were some really clever one-liner's in the movie as well. I don't want to give anything away so this is all you're going to hear from me.
Oh yeah one last thing, the alligator. This movie "monster" was the worst yet. Everyone knows about these creatures. You already know what the alligator is capable of and what it will look like. The computer graphics use to create this monster were fair at best. It's not the greatest job done on the movie.
Now that's my review. To kinda' let you know what this means I've decided to put this into terms everyone is used to. Ciscle and Ebert would have said half a thumb up and the NY times would have given this film about 2 stars out of five. As for me I give it one stinky toe down.
