You can count me amongst the minority
of college "educated", white, working-class adults in America who feel like a "stranger in their [my] own country." My values don't really align at all with the direction in which America is moving.
But then again, I've felt like a stranger no matter where I've gone or been-- so my usefulness as a data point is probably limited. I likely would have fit in best in the late 19-the century, industrial boom period.
